IN-PERSON LEARNING

 

By way of a reminder: 

  • Students in grades PK-7 will be issued an Apple iPad
  • Students in grades 8-12 will be issued an Apple MacBook Air
  • PK-5 devices will remain at school in classrooms. Students in grades 6-12 will be responsible for their device at both school and home.  
  • In the event of a building or district closure due to Covid-19 or the event of predicted inclement weather, all students will be able to take devices home to work online.

  • Technology resources for students, teachers and families can be found here. This site will continuously be updated, so please bookmark and check back often. 
  • Technology Devices Policy and Procedures: This handbook is a supplement to Waukee CSD Board of Education policy 605.6 and Waukee CSD Responsible Use Procedures.  
  • Cases for students in grades 3-7 are back-ordered. We believe they will arrive in late September. If you would like to purchase a case to keep the device protected in the interim, the device information is: 10.2-inch iPad 7th Gen Wi-Fi 32GB – Space Gray
  • As a reminder, if your student was issued a loaner device in the spring of 2020 in an effort to complete the 2019-2020 school year. This loaner device needs to be returned as they are being repurposed for staff use. If you haven’t returned the device, you will not be issued a new device. 

 

Plans for deployment of devices: 

  • Your child(ren) will receive their device during the first couple weeks of school. We have created internal procedures for teachers and technology staff to assist with deployment at your child’s respective school building.
