Great Week of Learning at Waukee Middle School

Innovation and participation. Those are just two of the key words currently being used to describe online learning at Waukee Middle School.

“They’ve done a fantastic job, the kids on our team,” says Missy Barrie, Waukee Middle School Social Studies Teacher. “Just participating and staying engaged as much as possible.”

Teachers say that students are really getting the hang of online learning, while doing everything they can to support themselves and their classmates. Taking advantage of time together is key in all classrooms.

“I have them for 84 minutes, because English at the middle school is two blocks and we stay on together for pretty much the entire time,” says Laura Martin, Waukee Middle School English Teacher.
