Senior Spotlight: Juliet Namwanje

This week for our senior spotlight, we will be highlighting Juliet Namwanje!

Juliet was recently a part of the SIFMA Foundation’s InvestWrite Competition where she had to submit an essay. The InvestWrite competition is a competition that combines math, social studies, and language arts along with research and knowledge on financial planning. The essay this fall was about how businesses are learning to adapt in the world we live in now, along with how the students themselves have adapted.

She loves that Waukee allows for students to be independent and search for their own opportunities throughout high school.

“My favorite part about Waukee High School is that students for the most part get to be independent and have a lot of autonomy.”

Juliet knows her recent successes have come from her allowing herself to exit her comfort zone and branch out into new opportunities.

“My best advice for students still in high school is to step out of their comfort zone. It may seem uncomfortable and daunting, but I found that the times when I stepped out of my comfort zone and did something new were actually some of the best and most rewarding decisions that I made in high school,” Juliet explained. “Explore and try new things out.”

Juliet plans to attend college and later start her own business.
