Groundbreaking for Eleventh Elementary School
The Waukee Community School District broke ground on its eleventh elementary Thursday, September 22. Waterford Elementary is scheduled to open in the fall of 2024. This will be the third elementary located in the City of Urbandale (Walnut Hills – 2005, Radiant – 2019). Waterford Elementary will be located in Urbandale at 5635 156th Street.
“These groundbreaking events are always a lot of fun,” says Superintendent Dr. Brad Buck. “It demonstrates our continued commitment to providing high-quality learning spaces for our students and great environments for our staff.”
Important Waukee Community School District Dates
- Fall 2022 – Opening of Sugar Creek Elementary
- Fall 2023 – Opening of Trailridge School (Middle-Level #5) and Waukee Schools Natatorium (District Pool Facility)
- Fall 2024 – Opening of Waterford Elementary
- Fall 2025 – Opening of North Middle School (Middle-Level #6)
