Visit our YouTube channel to hear from the four Board candidates’ who interviewed for a one-year term. On Monday, December 12, the Board will hold a Special Meeting at 5 p.m. to discuss and vote on who will fill the empty seat for a one-year term.

Four candidates applied for the open seat on the Waukee School Board. You can meet the applicants in-person during a Special Board Meeting on Thursday, December 8 at 6 p.m. If you’re unable to attend, the meeting will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel. Next week, the Board will hold another Special meeting on Monday, December 12 at 5 p.m. During it, the Board will discuss and vote on who will fill the empty seat for a one-year term.

A seat is coming open on our School Board due to the departure of Dan Gehlbach following his election to the Iowa House of Representatives.

If you’re interested in applying for a one-year term, please reach out to Board President Lori Lyon (llyon@waukeeschools.org) and Board Vice President Wendy Marsh (wmarsh@waukeeschools.org) via email by 5 p.m. on December 1.

President Lyon and Vice President Marsh will follow up with interested parties to explain the application, interview, and selection process. The Board is aiming to get someone in place to fill the empty seat by mid-December.
