Great Things in Nutrition!

Some great things are happening in the WCSD Nutrition Department!

Several nutrition projects were recipients of Ag in the Classroom grants. These projects include garden spaces, worm composting, hydroponics, a Little Ag Library for preschoolers, and egg hatching. Buildings awarded for these projects were Vince Meyer Learning Center, Shuler, Grant Ragan, and Timberline.

The Picnic and Play program received the “Turnip the Beet” award which recognizes schools with providing high-quality summer meals. Waukee was 1 of 98 schools to receive the award! This award is the highest designation the program can receive.
