Meet the Next Timberline Principal: Frank Lee
Pending board approval, Frank Lee will be the next principal at Timberline School for the 2023-24 school year. He’ll replace Adam Shockey, who will serve as the next leader of the new Trailridge School, opening this fall.
Frank comes to us with an extensive background in education. During the past 11 years with the Des Moines Public Schools, he has worked as a behavior interventionist, a high school science teacher, and, most recently, the associate principal of instruction at Roosevelt High School. He has also had the opportunity to oversee the youth workforce development as program director with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).
During his time in education, Frank has been honored with a variety of honors and distinctions. He earned the Lincoln High School Golden Spike Award for outstanding teaching in 2017, the Iowa State University’s Science Bound High School Advisor of the Year in 2016 and 2019, and the Iowa Juneteenth Educator of the Year in 2022.
Please join us in welcoming Frank Lee to Waukee!
