Great Apple Crunch

This week, our schools participated in the Great Apple Crunch! The annual event celebrates healthy kids, locally grown apples, and strong community partnerships with local farmers. In fact, our students bit into apples with nearly one million other students across the Midwest.

Fresh apples were served in our cafeterias from Deal’s Orchard in Jefferson, Iowa. One local lawmaker also joined in at Walnut Hills Elementary and stayed for a tour of the building’s garden.
