Unveiling Three Key Nutrition Updates for Waukee CSD
It can be difficult to keep up with your child’s Waukee CSD lunch account. Below is a helpful reminder to make sure your student always has funds to fill their belly. Plus, read about a new option to donate money to provide student meals to families struggling to make ends meet. Finally, learn how to get involved in the National School Lunch Program if you need support this school year.
1. All Student Meal Accounts Must be Pre-Paid
Our Nutrition Services is committed to feeding all students nutritious and delicious meals. All meals are to be pre-paid before service begins. You may make deposits through our online Payment system, Revtrak. Consider enrolling in the auto-replenishment feature on RevTrak, so your student’s account never goes negative. While online payments are encouraged, each facility does take cash or checks at each building.
All students may receive a reimbursable breakfast or lunch, no matter their account balance. A la carte (extra items, including second entrees, beverages, chips, snacks, etc.) may NOT be purchased without sufficient funds. Students may not charge any a la carte items. Please have a conversation with your children regarding their purchases.
All parents/guardians and any student over the age of 14 can make a SchoolCafe account to see purchases, review balances, set a la carte restrictions, and view menus.
2. Donation Fund Established for Student Meals
Students learn best when they are properly nourished. Unfortunately, there are times when families struggle to provide funds for their child’s food account. As a way to combat student hunger and meet the needs in our District, a donation fund has been established. Funds will be allocated to students in need based on School Board Policy 0701.5.
There are two ways to donate to the Nutrition Donation Fund:
- Make an online payment through our Nutrition Donation section on the Waukee payments page — Revtrak.
- Send a check to the address below:

3. Reminder: Submit Your Meal Eligibility Application
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally-assisted meal program. Students and families needing assistance to pay for school meals are encouraged to complete a Meal Eligibility application. You. may complete meal eligibility applications anytime during the school year. Applications can be completed online through SchoolCafe.
If you have already completed an application for the 23-24 school year, you do NOT need to complete another application.
