Bus Passes

We’re excited to share that a new bus pass program will launch Districtwide for the 2025-26 school year! Every bus rider will be issued a personalized pass to scan when getting on and off the bus. The new program will enhance student safety and help ensure riders get on the correct bus. Families needing a replacement pass can contact the school secretary.

To make sure every student has a bus pass available to pick up during open house night on August 21, 2025, we’re asking families to finalize busing selection by July 7. You can sign up for busing by completing your 2025-26 school year enrollment. If you’ve already enrolled but your transportation plans have changed, you can use the Transportation Update Form above to update your selections.

Not sure what you selected during enrollment? Here’s how to check:

Click the PowerSchool Registration link below and select “Continue Your Work.” (Skip the snapcode.) Once logged in, scroll to the bottom and look for the “Thank you” message. Within that message, you’ll see an option to click and see your registration responses and print them. Another option is to look for the “dashboard” button at the top. That will also take you to your prior enrollment responses.

Check What You Selected During Enrollment

After your transportation plans are finalized, make sure your BusZone app is set to track your student’s bus and when and where their pass is scanned.

Bus app — BusZone

The BusZone app is available on the App Store or Google Play. The app allows families to track the location of the bus and when and where their student scans their bus pass. Together, these features offer greater visibility and peace of mind for families. To enable scan notifications in your BusZone app, please follow the instructions

To get started on the app, families must know the following information:

  • Student number
  • Current bus number(s)
  • School access code: 3079WCSD

Riding Home with Friends

Students must ride home on the bus they are assigned to ride. They are not allowed to ride home with their friend for the day. If you have specific situations you’d like to discuss, please contact Durham at 515-987-2788.

Kindergarten Bus Riders FAQ

If you have a kindergarten student riding the bus for the first time, here is some important information:

Yes, a parent, guardian, adult, or older sibling must be at the bus stop to receive TK/kindergarten students.

Yes, bus services will be offered on kindergarten transition days. The buses will run one hour later and approximately two hours earlier on those shortened days. If the bus time you are assigned is 8:20 a.m., the bus will be at the stop at 9:20 a.m. In the afternoon, if your assigned time is 4 p.m., the bus will arrive at approximately 2 p.m. We encourage kindergarten riders to board the bus during these shortened days so they get used to it without the older students.

In mid-August, bus information will be emailed to families. At that point, and throughout the school year, bus information can be found in PowerSchool under transportation. If you submit a request to ride the bus during the school year, please allow approximately 48-72 hours for staff to process it. It’s always a good idea to check PowerSchool the day before school starts for the most up-to-date information.

If you have additional questions about your TK/kindergarten rider, please check out this FAQ.
