I grew up on an acreage near Marshalltown and graduated from Green Mountain-Garwin (GMG) High School. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology from Iowa State University (go Cyclones!). After student teaching in Rome, Italy, I began my education career at Southeast Polk as a science teacher and coach. I continued my passion for teaching and coaching at Johnston High School before moving on to serve as Assistant Principal at Saydel High School, where I eventually had the privilege to become Principal. Since then, I have been honored to serve the Waukee and Timberline community as Assistant Principal.
My wife, Kelly, and I met at Iowa State — so it’s no surprise our kids, Quinnlyn and Conor, bleed cardinal and gold. We have a handful of pets, including three rabbits, a bearded dragon, and about 30,000 honeybees. In my free time, I enjoy all things outdoors, especially cycling, and believe RAGBRAI is the most wonderful time of the year.
